Overview

This trip is focused in one of the best known routes in Perú starting in Tarapoto city and ending in the department of Amazonas,  the lodges we will  visit are located at different elevations, this helps to have a large number of birds and of course several endemic birds.

Itinerary


Day 1  Lima – Tarapoto

Today we will flight to Tarapoto from Lima and we will drive to visit a lake call Ricuricocha that has a lot birds and one of the birds to see here is the Comb Duck them we will visit another place after driving for 45 minutes where we can find a lot hummers and other birds too.

Day 2   Tarapoto – Salto de la Bruja- Waqanki lodge

We will drive to the Salto de la Bruja ( new place for hummingbirds) where we have hummingbird feeders a 45 minutes distances from Tarapoto where we will be spending the rest of the day Birding & Photography at this Hummingbird feeder.

Late in the afternoon we will head back to Waqanki lodge (3 hours driving)

Day 3   Waqanki Lodge full day Birding

Early in the morning we wil start the photopgraphy session at the Lodge.

Then the main birding will be in the garden and work in the different species of hummingbirds and other birds from this elevation.

The species we will probably see are oilbirds, Black bellied tanager (no feeders )

Paradise tanager ( no feeders )White chinned sapphire,rufous  crested coquette,white necked jacobin,white tailed trogon,yellow tufted woodpecker,great billed hermit,black throated hermit,amethyst woodstar,gilded barbet etc.

Day 4   Waqanki to Owlet Lodge

We will leave to the lodge early heading to Aquas Verdes (This is a great place for hummingbirds) then. After we will ascending the Alto Mayo valley, in our journeys we will stop at different elevations for photo opportunities, this is in our way to Owlet Lodge.

In the afternoon we will spend time at the garden for photography.

We will star visiting two spots the chestnut antpitta ,green and black fruiteater and rusty tinged antpitta the we will spend the time with some hummingbirds like long tailed sylph, emerald bellied pufflegs, chestnut breasted coronet, collared inca and some other hummingbirds .

Late in the afternnon we have the first opportunity to walk and try to see the endemic long whiskered owlet.

Today we will leave the lodge and visit the altonieva reserve whick is a great place for other species of hummers like booted rackettail ,the endemic royal sunangel,greenish pufflegs,white bellied woodstar,bronzy inca,fawn breasted brilliant and the violet fronted brilliant.

Day 7  Owlet Lodge to Huembo Lodge

Today we will drive and stop at  the Pomacochas lake and then get Huembo Lodge,this is the place for the endemic   Marvelous Spatuletail ,little woodstar,white bellied hummingbird,white bellied woodstar, lesser violetear and some other birds like silvery tanager,streaked saltators etc.

Overview

The Manu National Park protects one of the most important areas on the planet in terms of the mega-diversity of biological species. Its great extension crosses frigid punas, which exceed 4,000 meters above sea level, wooded mountains that give rise to a multitude of small ravines and valleys, high jungle cloud forests and finally the Amazonian plain. This magnificent and unique setting includes a wide and complex hydrographic system and guarantees the presence of a diversity of ecosystems little intervened by man.

On this trip we will be able to visit several ecosystems that will offer us many species of birds at different elevations in a forest that has not yet been deforested as much as in other places in the country.

Itinerary


DAY 1  CUSCO – HUACARPAY LAKE AND WAYQUECHA STATION (MANU ROAD)

The day begins when we pick you up at the Cusco airport. The airport is at an altitude of 11,000 feet and Cusco temperatures drop quickly in the evening so bring layers of warm clothing. After a delicious breakfast, we head to Huacarpay Lake, about twenty-five kilometers south of Cusco. As we slowly walk around the lake and marshy grassland we’ll look for two endemic species, the Bearded Mountaineer and the Rusty-fronted Canastero, as well as numerous other high Andean species.

We’ll stop along the Manu road for a tasty box lunch and continue on to several spots in the mountain valleys to look for the Andean Flicker, Black-throated Flowerpiercer, and Creamy-crested Spinetail (endemic). As we approach the Andean pass of Aicanaco we will have beautiful views of the Andes behind us and the Amazon Basin before us. At the pass we’ll have a chance to see the Scribble-tailed and Line-fronted Canastero and the Puna and Diademed Tapaculo. Working our way down the eastern slope of the Andes, the forest becomes more continuous and we’ll find mixed-species flocks of Mountain Tanagers, flycatchers, Gray-breasted Mountain Toucan, White-collared Jay and Mountain Cacique. In the late afternoon we arrive at the Wayqecha Station. Here, we’ll relax in comfortable lodgings with private bathrooms and hot water. Guests enjoy gathering in the dining room for the Wi-Fi and hot drinks.

DAY 2  WAYQUECHA TO COCK OF THE ROCK LODGE

After an early breakfast we will descend through the elfin forest into the cloud forest. Along the way we will see the Barred Fruiteater, Chesnut-crested Cotinga, Violet-throated Starfrontlet, White-bellied Woodstar, Versicolored Barbet, and Andean Cock-of-the-Rock. Other species we may find are the White-crowned Tapaculo, Yungas Manakin, Crested Quetzal, Versicolored Barbet, Golden-eared Tanager, Highland Motmot and many more. We will keep descending in altitude as we bird along the road looking for the Bar-bellied Woodpecker, White-throated Tyrannulet, Ochraceous-breasted and Unadorned Flycatchers, Barred Becard, Pale-footed Swallow, Mountain Wren, Citrine Warbler Slaty Gnateater, Chestnut-breasted Wren, Cinnamon-faced Tyrannulet, Spotted Nightingale Thrush, Amazonian Umbrella Bird, Tyrannine Woodcreeper, Masked Trogon, Crimson-bellied Woodpecker, Black-streaked Puffbird, Paradise Tanager, Saffron-crowned Tanager, Golden Tanager. If we’re lucky we may see gray woolly monkeys. We will arrive to the Cock-of-the-Rock Lodge in late afternoon. Enjoy a welcome drink and settle into your room, before a pre-dinner owl prowl.

We will overnight at Cock-of-the-Rock Lodge (4900ft).

DAY 3  COCK-OF-THE-ROCK LODGE FULL DAY

After an early morning bird walk and breakfast we’ll drive to El Mirador (Union Lookout) to look for mixed-species flocks of Blue-necked Tanagers, Paradise Tanagers, Bush Tanagers, Slaty-capped Flycatchers, Slate-throated red stars, Olive-backed and Mountain woodcreepers, Mountain Foliage Gleaners, Blue-banded and Chesnut-tipped toucanets, Crimson-bellied and Golden Olive woodpeckers, and Highland Motmots. El Mirador is a great place to spot raptors as well.

Back to the lodge for lunch and time to enjoy the garden, home to at least six species of hummingbirds, the Booted Racket-tail, and Wire-crested Thorntail.

We’ll set aside some time to visit a lek in the cloud forest to observe the Cock-of-the-Rock. We’ll get a chance to watch the colorful males dance to attract the females.

DAY 4   COCK-OF-THE-ROCK – VILLA CARMEN BIOLOGICAL STATION

We’ll have another chance to visit the Cock-of-the-Rock lek before we continue our journey in the cloud forest – through trees, waterfalls, and dramatic ravines – to the Andean foothills and bamboo forest. Here we’ll look for species like the Dusky-cheeked Foliage-gleaner, Red-billed Scythebill, Chesnut-backed Antstrike, Foothill Antwren, White-backed Fire-eye, Yellow- breasted Flycatcher, Stripe-chested Antwren, and Cabanis Spinetail. We’ll also see the Golden-bellied Warbler, Ornate Flycatcher, Cinnamon-faced Tyrannulet, rare Peruvian Pietail (endemic hummingbird), and Fine-barred Piculet (endemic). In Pillcopata we’ll stop to visit a coca plantation and learn about this plant and its many medicinal uses.

DAY 5  VILLA CARMEN TO CUSCO

After breakfast, we’ll  get back on Manu Road and continue our bird watching. The landscape will change as we climb and move through the cloud and elfin forests. We’ll have a good chance to see Mountain Tanagers, Chat Tyrants, and elaenias. We’ll have a box lunch along the way as we move through the magical landscape toward Cusco. The trip ends when we drop you back at your hotel in Cusco.

CUSCO – PIURAY LAKE- HUMMINGBIRD SANTUARY- PACHAR ROAD FULL DAY

Overview

Bird photography always needs fixed points to make good images and this whole day with the combination of one of the best high Andean lagoons near Cusco called Piuray where the birds are close to photograph and the Hummingbird Sanctuary where we can photograph several species of Hummingbirds at eye level help to obtain good images, in this last place we can make multiflashes to obtain better images, then before returning to Cusco we can photograph the torrent ducks in the place called Pachar also located in the sacred valley.

Itinerary


Today we will start early from Cusco city or Ollantaytambo town and drive to reach the Piuray lagoon, here we will find species such as Andean gulls, puna teals, yellow billed teals, andean teals, slate colored coot, common gallinule, burrowing owl, silvery greebe, brown bellied swallow,many colored rush tyrant,grenish yellow finch,plumbeus rail,spot winged pigeon,puna ibis,black faced ibis, then we continue to the sacred valley and visit the Yanahuara Hummingbird Sanctuary where we will see some species such as green and white hummingbird ,giant hummingbird,tiryan metaltail,sparkling violetear,shinning sunbeam,,sword billed hummingbird and other species around like creamy crested spinetail,chestnut breasted mountain finch, red crested cotinga etc.

In this place to get better pictures we will do multiflashes our tour guides know very well how to get great pictures.

After a good lunch we will go to Pachar where we will look for the Torrent duck, bearded mountaneer, before going back to Cusco or Ollantaytambo.

Today we will first flight to Lima city and then have a  second flight (connection ) to Puerto Maldonado .

Late in the afternoon we will arrive to Collpas Tambopata Inn Lodge after driving for 1 hour with 20 minutes and navigate the tambopata river upstream for 15 minutos.

Day 12  Collpas Tambopata Inn to Chuncho Macaw clay lick

Today early in the morning we will navigate upstream the Tambopata river to get  the Macaw clay lick ,a lot parrots,parakeets and macaws will give us a  great show ,we will be in the other side of the river and we will have breakfast enjoying this.

We will come back for lunch and spend the afternoon around the garden.

Day 13  Chuncho Macaw clay lick and Canopy tower

We will wake up very  early at 4:30 in order  to leave at 5:00 a.m  the boat trip will take  1:30 hours.

Once arrived to the Macaw clay lick we will see hundreds of parrots of different species who come to eat clay on the river bank. We will spend the whole morning there and having breakfast there in orden to get most os the species like reda and green, scarlet, blue and yellow, chestnut fronted macaws these species  need to eat clay because they need  to eliminate toxins. Also we will see parrots such as the blue headed, orange cheek , white eyed, dusky headed parakeets.

During a good day we can see a lot birds around there.

Day 14  Collpas Tambopata Inn Lodge to Puerto Maldonado city – Cusco (Ollantaytambo)

Today we will go back to Puerto Maldonado city and then take a  flight to Cusco city and  drive to the Sacred Valley (Ollantaytambo ).

If we have time an the light is good we can stop in Piuray lake to see species like silvery grebe, andean goose, andean gulls, puna teal, yellow billed teal,white tufted grebe,and other species.

Day 15  Ollantaytambo to Machupicchu

This morning  we will drive to Ensifera camp to see hummingbirds and other species to photograph like giant hummingbirds,green and white hummingbird,tiryan metaltail,black tailed trainbear,sparkling violetear,shinning sunbeam,white tufted sunbeam,white bellied woodstar,golden billed saltator,chestnut breasted mountain finch, and some other species.

We shall comeback for lunch at the hotel  and then at around  3 pm we will take the train to go to Aguas Calientes Town ,the town which is located close to Machupicchu Inca construction.

This morning we will have a guided tour in the Inca city and enjoy the Inca construction then will go back to Aguas Calientes.

This morning will give us time to look for the torrent duck which one of the unique species in he cloud forest and also we will visit a place to photograph some tanagers like blue and yellow,blue gray,safforn crowned,blue naped,blue necked,silvery tanagers,thick billed euphonia.

After having lunch at the town we will take a train back to Ollantaytambo and then drive to Cusco city.

Day 18 Cusco- Lima city

We will transfer you to the airport.

DAY 1 CUSCO, HUACARPAY LAKE AND WAYQUECHA STATION (MANU ROAD)

The day begins when we pick you up at the Cusco airport. The airport is at an altitude of 11,000 feet and Cusco temperatures drop quickly in the evening so bring layers of warm clothing. After a delicious breakfast, we head to Huacarpay Lake, about twenty-five kilometers south of Cusco. As we slowly walk around the lake and marshy grassland we’ll look for two endemic species, the Bearded Mountaineer and the Rusty-fronted Canastero, as well as numerous other high Andean species.

We’ll stop along the Manu road for a tasty box lunch and continue on to several spots in the mountain valleys to look for the Andean Flicker, Black-throated Flowerpiercer, and Creamy-crested Spinetail (endemic). As we approach the Andean pass of Aicanaco we will have beautiful views of the Andes behind us and the Amazon Basin before us. At the pass we’ll have a chance to see the Scribble-tailed and Line-fronted Canastero and the Puna and Diademed Tapaculo. Working our way down the eastern slope of the Andes, the forest becomes more continuous and we’ll find mixed-species flocks of Mountain Tanagers, flycatchers, Gray-breasted Mountain Toucan, White-collared Jay and Mountain Cacique. In the late afternoon we arrive at the Wayqecha Station. Here, we’ll relax in comfortable lodgings with private bathrooms and hot water.

We will overnight at the Wayqecha Station (9300ft).

DAY 2 WAYQECHA STATION – FULL DAY

After an early breakfast we will bird along Manu Road, looking for mixed flocks of tanagers, Golden-collared Tanager, Grass-green Tanager, Scaled Metaltail, White-collared Jay, Black-throated Tody Tyrant, Barred Fruiteater, Band-tailed Fruiteater, Marcapata Spinetail (endemic), Blue-banded Toucanet, Hooded Mountain Tanager, Black and Chestnut Eagles, Solitary Eagle, Slaty Tanager, Slaty-backed Chat Tyrant, Fulvous Wren, Chestnut-crested Cotinga, Crested Quetzal, Yellow-throated Tanager, Buff-breasted Mountain Tanager, and Superciliared Hemispingus. After lunch and a siesta will have another chance to see more birds like the Mountain Tanager, finches, chat-tyrants, Barred Woodpecker, Rufous-capped Thornbill and others.

We will overnight at the Wayqecha Station.

DAY 3 WAYQUECHA TO COCK-OF-THE-ROCK LODGE

After an early breakfast we will descend through the elfin forest into the cloud forest. Along the way we will see the Barred Fruiteater, Chesnut-crested Cotinga, Violet-throated Starfrontlet, White-bellied Woodstar, Versicolored Barbet, and Andean Cock-of-the-Rock. Other species we may find are the White-crowned Tapaculo, Yungas Manakin, Crested Quetzal, Versicolored Barbet, Golden-eared Tanager, Highland Motmot and many more. We will keep descending in altitude as we bird along the road looking for the Bar-bellied Woodpecker, White-throated Tyrannulet, Ochraceous-breasted and Unadorned Flycatchers, Barred Becard,  Mountain Wren, Citrine Warbler Slaty Gnateater, Chestnut-breasted Wren, Cinnamon-faced Tyrannulet, Spotted Nightingale Thrush, Amazonian Umbrella Bird, Tyrannine Woodcreeper, Masked Trogon, Crimson-bellied Woodpecker, Black-streaked Puffbird, Paradise Tanager, Saffron-crowned Tanager, Golden Tanager. If we’re lucky we may see gray woolly monkeys. We will arrive to the Cock-of-the-Rock Lodge in late afternoon. Enjoy a welcome drink and settle into your room, before a pre-dinner owl prowl.

We will overnight at Cock-of-the-Rock Lodge (4900ft).


DAY 4-5 COCK-OF-THE-ROCK LODGE

In the early morning we’ll visit an Andean Cock-of-the-Rock lek to observe this showy and spectacular bird. From the lek we return to the lodge and watch the action at the hummingbird feeders while we eat breakfast. Some of the hummingbirds we’ll see are the Booted-racket Tail, Wire-crested Thorntail, Many-spotted Hummingbird, Violet-fronted Brilliant, White-bellied Woodstar, and Long-tailed Sylph. After breakfast we’ll explore some of the trails along the road to spot cloud forest birds such as the Southern White-crowned Tapaculo, Andean Guan, Scaly-naped Parrot, Crimson-mantled Woodpecker, and various species of tanagers. Back to the lodge for lunch and a break before we continue birding the rest of the afternoon. We’ll spot the Rufous-breasted Wood Quail, Chestnut-collared Swift, Three-striped and Three-banded Warblers, Lanceolated Monklet, Russet Antshrike, Marble-faced Bristle Tyrant, Fulvous-breasted Flatbill, Golden-crowned Flycatcher, Golden-collared Honeycreeper, White-winged Tanager, Yellow-throated Bush Tanager and many more.

We’ll overnight in Cock-of-the-Rock Lodge.

DAY 6 COCK-OF-THE-ROCK LODGE – Villa Carmen Biological Station

After an early breakfast we hop into our vehicles and continue birding along the road down to Villa Carmen Station. The Amazonia Lodge has comfortable rooms . There is  Wi-Fi and electricity.

The rest of the day we will watch the hummingbirds and tanagers as you eat dinner and sip your hot drinks in the dining room.

We’ll overnight at the  Villa Carmen.

DAY 7-8 Villa Carmen Biological Station.

The lodge is in the transitional zone (at 1640 feet of elevation) where the last foothills of the Andes begin to flatten out into the lowland Amazon Basin. Butterfly bushes attract numerous hummingbird species including the Rufous-crested Coquette, Golden-tailed Sapphire, Blue-tailed Emerald, Black-eared Fairy, Wire-crested Thorntail, Amethyst Woodstar and the endemic Kopeck’s Hermit.. We will also see birds in floodplain and hill forest habitats. Some of the species we will be looking for include the Black-capped Tinamou, the Strange Hoatzin, Buckley’s Forest Falcon, Wattled Guan, Military Macaw, Blue-headed Macaw, Pheasant Cuckoo, Bluish-fronted Jacamar, Chestnut-capped Puffbird, Fine-barred Piculet, Red-billed Scythbill, Dark-breasted Spinetail, Dusky-cheeked Foliage-gleaner, Bamboo Antshrike, Chestnut-backed Antshrike, Amazonian and Thrush-like Antpittas, Rusty-belted Tapaculo, Mottle-backed Elaenia, Red-billed Tyrannulet, Johanne’s Tody-tyrant, Yellow-browed Tody-flycatcher, Black-backed Tody-Flycatcher, Ornate Flycatcher, Band-tailed, Fiery-capped and Round-tailed Manakins, Golden-bellied (Cusco) Warbler, Black-faced Dacnis and many more. We will go owling for the Mottled Owl, Black-banded Owl, Tawny-bellied Screech Owl along with Great, Long-tailed and Common Potoos.

We will visit two places where are feeding hummingbirds,crakes,antpittas and great place to see the king vulture at eye level.

DAY 9 Villa Carmen biological station to Cusco

Today we will drive to Cusco city and wait for the next day to flight to the rain forest to visit the Tambopata National reserve.

Day 10 Cusco to Chuncho Lodge in Puerto Maldonado.

Today we will flight to  city of Puerto Maldonado(rainforest) and we will drive the Road Interoceanica an average of 48 km, then enter a dirt road by middle of the forest for approximately 18 km to the banks of the Tambopata River. You will arrive at the Chunho Lodge in the late afternoon.

Day 11 Chuncho Clay Lick

We wake up very  early, at 4:30, to leave at 5:00 a.m. our destination, the world’s largest Macaw clay lick, a trip of approximately 1:30 hours boat trip, on the way we will have the incredible opportunity to see Capybaras, which are the largest rodents in the world, tapirs,  and you can even see the South American feline, the Jaguar, many of our customers (35%) have seen this beautiful cat  and they have photographic evidence of these encounters with these  mammals.

Once arrived to the Macaw clay lick we will see hundreds of parrots of different species who come to eat clay on the wall adjacent to the River. We will accommodate us in our chairs to wait to begin one of the most beautiful natural shows of the birds in the world. Species of large macaws the most colorful of America, reds and Greens, blue and yellows and the scarlet’s macaws gather to eat clay needed in they daily diet to eliminate toxins. Parrots such as the blue headed, orange cheek , white eyed, dusky headed, among other come every day to same place for same purpose.

Once we see all the activity we will go back to the lodge and spend the afternoon around the garden and the canopy tower.

Day 12 Chuncho clay lick to Sandoval lake (Tambopata National Reserve)

After a good breakfast, our boat will take us to our car to journey back to Puerto Maldonado, the same path to get back to the city, once arrived in the city we will move to the main port of the city to begin another cruise within the reserve, this time our destination is the famous and beautiful Sandoval Lake. This is an oxbow lake in Tambopata national reserve. After approximately 40 minutes by boat, we started a 3 km hike through the forest until you reach the shore of the Lake. The place is spectacular, many birds, very good opportunity to see a lots of monkeys of several species such as the red howler monkey, brown capuchin, squirrel monkey, dusky tity and saddle back tamarin and some good opportunities see the family of giant river otters.

Day 13 Sandoval lake to Puerto Maldonado

Early in the morning we will explore again the Sandoval lake and in the afternoon go back to Puerto Maldonado and flight back to Lima.

Overview

Abra Málaga is an open between the pass of the snowy Verónica at about 4330 meters above sea level and was created for the pass of the Cusco-Quillabamba highway and is the highest point of this entire route. Late in the afternoon near Ollantaytambo we will visit a place where they are feeding hummingbirds and some other birds (Yanahuara town)

We will wake up very early to  drive to the otherside of the  Abra Malaga pass at 4316mts and this side has elfin forest and cloud forest so we will birding looking for species like Unstreaked Tit-Tyrant, Golden-collared Tanager, Violet-throated Starfrontlet, Parodi´s Hemispingus, Marcapata Spinetail, Tit-like Dacnis, Cusco Brush-Finch, chestnut bellied mountain finch and others.

Red-and-White, Rufous and Undulated Antpitta are often heard so we will try to see some of them.

After a nice picnic lunch, we will look for some birds we did not see one day before.

Late in the afternoon we will go back to Cusco or Ollantaytmabo.

Overview

It is located in the district of Lucre, Province of Quispicanchi, at approximately 3,020 meters above sea level. This wetland is one of the closest and largest to the city of Cusco that encompasses a large number of Andean birds.

Half day Cusco

We will begin at 6:00 am or 6:30 am  and driving for about 30 minutes to get Huacarpay lake, as we slowly walk around the lake and marshy grassland we’ll look for two endemic species, the Bearded Mountaineer and the Rusty-fronted Canastero, as well as numerous other high Andean species like:

Wren-like Rushbird and Many-colored Rush-Tyrant are present in the reeds and Yellow-winged Blackbird can be found. The arid scrub around the lake holds the Peruvian endemic Rusty-fronted Canastero and Streak-fronted Thornbird. Bearded Mountaineer can be seen feeding in the tree tobacco along the roads and Giant Hummingbird occurs as well.

Overview

This trip has the combination of the Abra Malaga at over 4330 meters and the base of the Humantay and Salkantay peaks at over 4200 meters, they are probably high points during our bird watching which is full of various endemic birds.

DAY 1 Ollantaytambo – Malaga pass

Overnight: Mollepata town

Day 2 Mollepata – Salkantay road – Cusco city

 

Itinerary


DAY 1

Ollantaytambo – Malaga pass

Today we will star really early and we will birding along the road in both sides of the Abra malaga pass (4316m/14,160 ft)

As soon as we get the  elfin forest we will look for species like  Unstreaked Tit-Tyrant, plushcap, sword billed hummingbird,Violet-throated Starfrontlet, Parodi´s Hemispingus, Marcapata Spinetail, Tit-like Dacnis, Cusco Brush-Finch, chestnut bellied mountain tanager ,inca wren some antpittas also like Red-and-White, Rufous and Undulated antpittas.

For some people who are able to walk in a high altitude we can try to visit the polylepis forest where we can find some species like Royal Cinclodes, Ash-breasted Tit-Tyrant and White-browed Tit-Spinetail, Giant Conebill, Line-fronted and Junin canasteros, Puna  Tapaculo, Stripe-headed Antpitta, Thick-billed Siskin, Tawny Tit-Spinetail, Red-rumped Bush-Tyrant, mountain caracara and probably some ground tyrants.

Then we will drive to Mollepata town for 3 hours and half approximately.

Day 2

Mollepata – Salkantay road – Cusco city

After the breakfast we will drive along the Salkantay -Soraypampa road looking for species like Creamy Crested Spinetail,Apurimac Spinetail, Apurimac Brush Finch, Vilcabamba Thistletail, White Tufted Sunbeam, Vilcabamba Thisthletail. Vilcabamba tapaculo, Red crested Cotinga, Creamy Winged Cinclodes, Tit Like Dacnis, Andean Condor, Mountain Caracara, Variable Hawk, Chestnut-breasted Mountain-Finch and Golden-billed Saltator.

Heading back to Cusco passing the Mollepata town we have some opportunities to see the white eared puffbirds and the pale tailed canastero then we will keep driving to Cusco city.
